As a business, we are consistently looking for ways to improve our offering, while supporting our drive for safer working environments for our members and staff. Committing to this goal, we are delighted that The Lennox Building is now WELL Certified Gold, making it the first project to be certified under the WELL v2 pilot in Ireland and the first Certified flexible workspace in Europe. In addition, The Lennox Building is one of the few select certified flexible working spaces in the world.
Stress and the war for talent are some of the greatest challenges facing businesses today, WELL can help solve for both. All features of WELL support health, immunity and resilience in staff and employees.
“When we designed The Lennox Building, we made a commitment to wellness as a core part of the design, and it’s great to see all the hard work come to fruition. Receiving the official WELL Certification by The International WELL Building Institute, now more than ever, underpins our vision to create safer and healthier working environments for our members. There is a greater emphasis on well-being generally and this certification further supports Iconic’s commitment in this regard.” – Joe McGinley, CEO & Founder of Iconic Offices
WELL 101 And Business Support
The WELL Building Standard (WELL) is the leading tool for advancing health and well-being in buildings globally, helping people to work, live, perform and feel their best. As a WELL Certified Gold building, The Lennox Building proudly supports and enhances the health and well-being of its occupants.
WELL v2 consists of 10 concepts focused on human health; Air, Thermal Comfort, Water, Sound, Nourishment, Materials, Light, Mind, Movement and Community. These elements have specific requirements, which The Lennox Building meets such as; enhanced ventilation, enhanced (filtered) water quality, as well as visual and physical ergonomics, improving comfort, safety and general well-being.
WELL At The Lennox Building
The finishes, fittings and design approach are carefully aligned with Iconic Offices’ WELL Building Standard targets, and the fit-out is designed to achieve Gold WELL Certification meeting high health and wellness goals.
Interior planting, energy efficient lighting, on-site bike parking, a range of shower facilities and wellness events programme contribute to a sustainable working environment. The Lennox building has been designed to provide clients with a high-quality indoor environment, focusing exclusively on the ways that buildings and communities, and everything in them, can improve comfort, drive better choices, and generally enhance, not compromise, health and wellness.
WELL For Business & Benefits
For companies, investing in people, dedicated to helping to improve their physical and mental health at work, the initiative means healthier and happier employees.

WELL Health Benefits For Building Occupants
WELL v2 consists of 10 concepts, all focused on human health. We have selected a few key elements to highlight here, outlining a range of benefits to members at The Lennox Building. Further information on all benefits of WELL v2 can be found here.
WELL Certification at the Gold level creates a safer and healthier working environment at The Lennox building. The overarching benefits are themed and broken down in more detail below. Our library at The Lennox Building has also been curated on the third floor to provide reading material and further resources to members, support knowledge on nutrition, cooking, exercise, mental health, well-being, sleep and self-care.
Strengthen Immune systems
COVID-19 is predicted to have lasting physical and mental health impacts. Therefore, providing access to health-promotion strategies, education and resources can help to cultivate healthy habits and resilience in response to physical and mental health stressors. A healthy immune system helps the body fight infections and reduce factors associated with a greater risk for infection.
Smoke Free Zones
Smoking is associated with multiple negative health outcomes such as respiratory infections, therefore WELL creates a smoke-free environment, to deter smoking, minimize occupant exposure to secondhand smoke and reduce smoke pollution.
Poor quality sleep, or not enough sleep, has been associated with a range of negative health outcomes, including impaired immune function. Exposure to daylight and circadian lighting design has been shown to have a positive impact on sleep quality.
Nutrition & Hydration
WATER – The WELL Water concept covers aspects of the quality, distribution and control of water in a building. Testing is carried out on water filtration systems ensuring the elimination of 30+ common pollutants in water. Hydration and filtered enhanced water quality supports personal well-being and immune health. Staying hydrated is an easy choice with filtered water and water dispensers on all floors.
NOURISHMENT – The WELL Nourishment concept requires the availability of fruits and vegetables and nutritional transparency and encourages the creation of food environments where the healthiest choice is the easiest choice.
Air Quality
The WELL Air concept aims to ensure high levels of indoor air quality across a building’s lifetime through diverse strategies that include source elimination or reduction, active and passive building design and operation strategies and human behaviour interventions. In addition, fresh air ventilation exceeds that of a standard office by 30%.
Supporting Movement
Combating sedentary habits by incorporating movement and exercise throughout the day is known to positively impact health on multiple fronts. The WELL Movement concept promotes movement, physical activity and active living and discourages sedentary behaviours through environmental design strategies, programs and policies.
The Lennox Building has been designed with brightly lit, art filled stair access and corridors, encouraging enjoyable use of the stairs and corridor spaces and movement throughout the building.
Located in Dublin’s CBD, beside grand canal, and only a few minutes from Iveagh gardens, The Lennox Building location means there are numerous exercise options, from a lunch time stroll to the local gym. In addition, our location is bordered by cycle routes, with on-site bike parking.
Wellness Events
Our events programme offers a range of ways to keep movement and well-being in focus. From workout classes, to yoga and pilates, we vary options to accommodate for our diverse community. This is supported by lunch and learn events with industry leaders on mental resilience, sleep hygiene, nutrition and well-being.
Light
The WELL Light concept promotes exposure to light and aims to create lighting environments that are optimal for visual, mental and biological health. The building has large full height glazed elements and excellent daylight levels throughout, with great views to nature and the Dublin Mountains.
Whilst WELL is an important feature at The Lennox Building, we are consistently working away in the background to handle the Covid19 landscape also. Incorporating safer ways of working within all of our workspaces across Dublin, for both our clients and staff. You can find more information on this here.
